Kaltik was established in 2002 by Conor Manweiler. His aim was to support the Irish rollerblading scene. He wanted to produce clothing and hardware and sponsor a team. The team started out with six Irish riders in 2002. Kaltik`s siganture product - Stealth Flat frame convinced many to go back to flat setups!
UFS (Universal Frame System) – mounting holes have 165mm and are placed on the same level. Boot is equipped with nubs around threaded holes, which fit in to corresponding cavities in frame. Every UFS frame fits every boot using this standard.
Composite frame – frame is made from a mixture of polymers. It is lighter and more flexible than aluminium frames, but also wears down faster. Aggressive skating frames are made in this technology because of material properties, which allow for grinding obstacles.
Flat setup frame – all wheels in the frame are on the same level and touch the ground simultaneously. This provides superior stability, greater rolling, more inertia and reduces wheels wear. It is, however, much harder to do groove tricks on aggressive frames using this wheel setup.
Two-piece 8mm axles
Manufacturer used two piece axles of 8mm diameter. This diameter fits tightly inside inner ring of 608 type bearings and thanks to this, standard spacer is used.
