About manufacturer
The Sonic Sports brand was born out of necessity. Company’s founder, Cliff Chi, avid inline skater and hockey player, got tired of bruising his knuckles while rotating wheels. Having experience working as Air Force engineer, he sat down to work and the result was Gripz Inline Skate Tool, an award-winning product.
Seeing that Sonic name represents speed and Cliff wanted to make skates maintenance easier and faster, the name was a no-brainer. The brand has quickly expanded to other fields, providing parts and accessories of all kinds. Sonic Sports products are probably the only hardware ever made by a skating company that visited space. NASA used their axles and bearing spacers to make low gravity treadmills, to help astronauts visiting space station to stay fit in orbit. To this day, the company remains devoted to make lives of skaters easier when it comes to keeping their gear in a good shape.
