If you are looking for great quality, comfortable and well fitting helmets, we got you covered. But first, do you know ALK13 brand?
This French brand has been created by Vincent „Vins” Isaac, a lifelong inline skating enthusiast. Vins have a broad experience in action sports, which pushed him towards creating a brand of protective gear and helmets. His goal was to introduce new level of quality and comfort and, without a shadow of doubt, it was achieved, seeing how highly regarded ALK13 products are! Not only among skaters, but also among scooter riders, skateboarders, BMX and mountain biking fans, even water sports enthusiasts. Over the years, the brand has cooperated with numerous athletes to gather feedback needed to further improve and polish their products.
ALK13 helmets
When it comes to actual helmet construction template, the brand went a bit upstream. Usually high end models come equipped with adjustment ring, allowing you to tighten the helmet on your head. This does not eliminate leftover space between your head and helmet, though, meaning that it can move a little. This does not impact safety in any way, but anyone who does flips will tell you that having a well-fitting helmet, giving you a tight, solid feel is the best choice. This is why ALK13 helmets come with additional set of foams, allowing you to adjust them to your head perfectly. Of course, helmets themselves have a typical “action sports” shape, with full occiput protection.
ALK13 offers two helmet models:
Krypton – the basic, cheaper model. They are made in out-mold technology: polystyrene inner shell is glued inside outer one made from hard urethane. This process means these two elements do not fit perfectly together and have some space between them. As this does affect kinetic energy dispersion on impact, polystyrene layer must be adequately thick. Of course, this type of production process does not mean that helmet is not safe to use – Krypton meets all requirements to be sold in EU. If you are looking for sub-50 Euros helmet, this is a very solid choice.
Helium – lighter and more premium model. It is made with in-mold technology: a process during which both outer shell made out of polycarbonate and inner one made out of polystyrene are injected into one mould. This makes them perfectly connected with each other, allowing the helmet to be thinner and lighter while meeting the same safety requirements as out-mold helmets. If you are after a premium class, lightweight, well fitting helmet, Helium is one of the best options available.
Here in Bladeville, we know the meaning of “skaters for skaters” saying very well, as our company is an example of such business. ALK13 is another one and we believe in supporting them, seeing that people behind it love the sport and put work into growing it. Not only by developing new products like Famus wheels, but also by actively participating in European skating scene. It is worth to buy an ALK13 helmet not only because they are excellent quality, but also to support a smaller, skater-owned brand who gives back into the sport.
