New Powerslide Arise Skates

New Powerslide Arise Skates

Powerslide Arise is a new generation of semi-race skates from German brand. These skates were built from the ground up to deliver excellent performance and riding experience to skaters who are ready to make the jump from fitness models to faster ones. A mid-height cuff gives just enough support to make these skates accessible for less experienced speed enthusiasts.

Arise boot is of really high quality – their carbon shell is equipped with Trinity mounting, ensuring excellent energy transfer on push. To give user maximum comfort, Powerslide have implemented an innovative external cuff – it is mounted on just one screw on the rear of the heel, removing two side pivot points which quite often caused problems with ankles in high-cut marathon skates. Furthermore, these skates are heatmoldable.

That’s not all! Powerslide offers Arise in three versions, each of them targeted at different style and towards skaters of different experience levels. All of them come with Undercover RAW wheels and Wicked ABEC9 bearings for great roll, though.

What some may find interesting, one of the Arise models is made for a skating style totally different to speed skating, although still based around breaking records. If you have no idea what can it be, read further!

New Powerslide Arise Skates

Arise Marathon

Typical endurance/long distance skate. Contrary to two other models, this one does not come with external cuff. The frame is 318 mm long and fits three 125 mm diameter wheels, a great base for deep, strong push with phenomenal top speed. The skates are very light thanks to carbon shell and magnesium frame. They are made for people who want to push their limits when it comes to speed, distance as well as skating marathons (as the name suggests).

Arise RD

This is the most versatile skate out of the three. It does have external cuff, which is optional – you can safely skate without it. However, it does help less experienced skaters in maintaining proper technique. The 270 mm long frame is a very interesting solution, as it’s longer than frames used in urban skating, but shorter than full-blown speedskating ones. It fits three 110 mm diameter wheels and allows to go fast while still keeping a good level of maneuverability.

Arise RD is a “core” skate of the line – not only a well balanced setup, but also a great base for upgrading it to faster one in the future. Furthermore, if you’ll attach a 4x90 or 4x110 frames to these boots, they can perform really well in inline alpine.

Arise S Red/Black/White and Black/Red

Surprise! These skates are Arise RD tuned for speed slalom competition. They are pretty close to high end freeskates, too, just with a bit lower cuff and less forgiving fit, so urban skating is certainly not off-limits for them. It is not a secret that speed slalom skaters supported by Powerslide have been using lower cut boots with Trinity frames for several years now. The Arise cuff is high enough to provide decent support, but at the same time short enough to allow for more ankle freedom. Comes in handy when chasing shortest times possible.

Just like in RD version, you can remove the cuff, but the skate comes with one additional feature – there’s a mid-foot strap you can use to get the boot super tight in lower part of the foot, getting even better control. You can remove it if you want, though. The frame used in this version is high quality, extruded Ego SL model measuring 243 mm – perfect for skating between the cones, but also a nice setup for urban skating. Just like RD, Arise SL is a good base for an upgrade to a different wheel setup in the future.

Arise in boot only versions

Powerslide sells boot only versions of Arise SL for both Trinity and 195 mm frame mountings. It is a great pick if you want to build your own setup, but also the only way to get a 195 mm compatible boot, seeing there is no full skate version of it.
