Powerslide Khaan Junior skates for kids

Powerslide Khaan Junior skates for kids

The Khaan Junior skates are of the most popular skates for children in our online shop. No surprise here, really – these adjustable skates do offer a great, secure fit*, attractive price and superb quality the Powerslide brand is known for.

Germans are making several models based on two very similar, but slightly different shells. All of them come in four shell sizes, each of them being adjustable in four full EU sizes. Furthermore, the frame length and wheels size is chosen accordingly to the boot size. Thanks to it, kids of all ages have the same balance, agility and stability while skating Khaan Junior. The short frame and low center of gravity makes skates easy to control. This is making skating easier for younger children.

Powerslide Khaan Skates in Bladeville shop

As there are several Khaan Junior models, we have prepared a short breakdown with description for each below. If you want to learn more about a skate, just click on the hyperlink and you’ll be taken to the product page with more detailed desription.

Khaan Junior Ltd and Khaan Junior Ltd Red

The most basic models of the Khaan Junior line, Ltd versions come with rigid, adjustable shell. Two buckles and lacing serve as closure and allows to lock the foot in place. As it is the most affordable of Khaan Junior skates, it comes equipped with composite frame. The wheels are intended for recreational use. To sum it up – these are a good choice if you are looking for a pair of first skates for your kid, do not want to spend much, but want to be sure that skating experience won’t be compromised.

Khaan Junior SQD: Black, Pink and Black/Pink

Mid-tier models and a very attractive package given price to quality ratio. SQD are based on a different shell than Ltd – they use Powerslide’s design rather than similar open mould counterpart. The frame is made out of extruded aluminum, making it stronger, lighter and more responsive than composite ones in Ltd version. This translates to lower rolling resistance and better energy transfer, resulting in faster skates. The Hurricane wheels are of higher quality. Khaan Junior SQD are perfect choice if you want to give your child a pair of skates they can learn and practice freeskating and urban skating on!

Khaan Junior Pro

The most advanced skates among Khaan Junior line. These have everything what makes SQD such great option, but bring some notable upgrades to the table. For starters, 45 degree Velcro strap has been replaced with micrometric buckle mounted on replaceable strap with built-in protection – the very same one as used in freeskates for grown-ups. The skates still come with aluminium frames, but these ones have a trick up in their sleeve – they are 2 in 1 type frames, allowing you to choose between 4 smaller or 3 bigger wheels configurations. Skates comes stock in triskate configuration. The wheels are Powerslide Spinner, one of the best freeskating wheels when it comes to overall value. These are used in freeksates for grown-ups too and are a proven, long lasting part. High quality Wicked ABEC9 bearings complete the package and give additional advantage over cheaper Khaan Junior models.

Caution: the Khaan Junior Pro does not come with a brake! Skates are compatible with Powerslide HABS brake in S/M size.

*It must be taken in to account that just as in case of hardboots for adults, how given skate fits and what heel lock and control it gives, heavily depends on how it is adjusted to user’s anatomy. For example, a wide shell won’t be a good fit for narrow feet, because too much room diminishes level of control. Users with flat feet or low instep may encounter heel lift in more spacious shells.

This is why we encourage trying the skates on before purchase. You can do it in one of ours brick-and-mortar shops, but if you cannot visit one, there is another way. Because EU law grants you a right to return purchased product within 14 days since purchase, a solution we quite often recommend to our customers is buying two different pairs of skates, keeping the one which fits better and sending the another one back. Be aware, though, that the skates must be in as-new condition for return to be accepted, so just try them on, preferably on your carpet and do not take them for a test ride outside!
