EO Skates

EO Skates brand was founded back in 2007 and from the very beginning their goal was to revolutionize the market of speedskating frames. How? By making them out of carbon. Even though this wasn’t a new idea, early attempts were rather unsatysfying – in most cases, two frame walls were joined together by metal connectors.

EO Skates came up with monolithic design with thicker walls, which made frames more rigid overall. If we would talk about aluminum frames, „thicker walls” wouldn’t be a desired option, but in case of carbon ones their weigth is so low that it doesn’t really matter. These are truly featherlight. It is also worth to note that one-piece frames are still lighter than earlier designs with metal connectors!

Another upside of carbon frames is their remarkable rigidity. This means that very little of energy transferred to push on wheels is lost. Perfect for racing track!

EO Skates dip their toes into other skating styles, too. First attempts at this are EMPEROR frames created in cooperation with Florian Petitcolin, one of the best freeskatersd sponsored by FR Skates and multiple gold medalist in freejump.

Over time, the company has expanded their product range with aluminium frames. Of course, they are made out of the best aircraft aluminum alloy, 7005 series. These are more walled friendly than carbon models and can go toe to toe with the very best model made by other companies.
