Product Description

Playlife Aztec - Black entry level urban inline skates

The Playlife Aztec is an affordable urban inline skate model. These visually appealing, fast urban skates are full of features and ready to ride right out of the box. Their durable hardboot construction, complemented by a flexible cuff, provides with an optimal platform for intense inline skating workouts.

Playlife Aztec urban inline skates — for whom?

The Playlife Aztec skates feature reinforced plastic at the heel where it contacts the frame, and slightly wider lace passages, making them slightly wider overall. These skates are primarily for those who are looking for:

  • freeskate model to start their adventure with this type of skating without spending a lot of money
  • An affordable, hardboot alternative to fitness skates
  • Inline skates from a manufacturer with good warranty service. Playlife is produced and distributed by Powerslide, a brand known for standing by its customers.

Features of the Playlife Aztec urban inline skates

  • Shell — made from the same material as the more expensive skates in the Powerslide main line. This is GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic), making the skates stiff and providing good ankle support during skating.
  • Cuffs and buckles — mounted on rivets.
  • Excellent ventilation — to ensure comfort and hygiene during skating. A series of holes in the front and side of the boot allow for continuous airflow, reducing heat and sweat accumulation. This not only increases overall user comfort but also helps to reduce the risk of chafing and blisters.
  • Liner — simple but comfortable. Designed to fill the skate shell well, providing very good control over the skates in combination with the shell's high stiffness. Interestingly, like other inner shoes in Powerslide skates, this one is also designed around the dual fit concept — meaning it has a stretchable front that adjusts over two sizes.

Classic 4x80 mm wheel setup

  • Powerslide Gamma frame — a basic model of a cast aluminium frame, which is still used in the more expensive Powerslide Imperial skates. Solid, quite stiff, and comes with one-piece axles. The frame is 243 mm long and accommodates 4x80 mm diameter wheels.
  • Frame position can be adjusted sideways — allowing for corrections of pronation or supination issues. It's equipment you can trust for urban skating. Since the boot uses a 165 mm mounting standard, it's also possible to replace this frame with another model on your own.
  • Wheels and bearings — Playlife 80 mm wheels with a hardness of 86A are sufficient to start your skating adventure, and steel ABEC 7 bearings give them proper roll. They are good enough to start with – and once you catch the skating bug, you can always replace them with something better.

Playlife Aztec Black - Worth Knowing!

The shell is one of the strong points of these skates, showing a proper setting of priorities — thanks to its good quality, it makes sense to consider upgrading these skates in the future with higher-class parts than those factory-installed.

It's clear that Aztec skates can't compete with the best freeskate skates, but on the other hand, thanks to smart budget cuts, these skates really do hold their own, considering how much we'll have to pay for them. If you're looking for a hardboot model at a good price — Aztec are undoubtedly the favourites.
