Iqon Decode Pro Inline Skate Frames
29 itemsIQON frames are harbingers of evolution in freeskating gear. Never before one has managed to fit so many setup options into a single frame.
For example, at a first glance Decode Pro 80 frame looks rather simple – a 4x80 rockered setup frame, like many others on the market. But it also gives you an option to use 3x100 setup in 231 mm wheelbase, with or without 1 mm rocker of middle wheel. Want something more exotic? How about 80-64-64-80 setup with a dedicated H-block (sold separately) for grinds? One frame is suitable for many skating styles – freestyle slalom, speed slalom, grinds on copings and of course, freeskating!
The longer the frame and maximum wheels, the richer it is in options. Decode Pro 110 comes with four possible wheel setups – using three, four and even five wheels. In addition, two of these can be set as two slightly different rockering varieties.
How such versatility was achieved? Simple solutions work best – IQON has got rid of built-in bearing bosses (spacers) in the frame, removing any restrictions when it comes to axles placement. The trade-off is that you need dedicated Decode bearings to use these frames, as they have built-in spacers. Still, these frames are worth getting a new set of bearings for, as no others will give you the same number of options in single package.
Good news are that IQON Decode frames are available in three mounting standard: SSM (165 spacing with raised heel), UFS and Trinity. Thus, no matter which freeskating or aggressive boot you have, there is a Decode frame compatible with it. LSM (195 mm spacing with raised heel) is missing out, but seeing that it is mostly used in low-cut speedskating boots, that’s hardly a downside. When it comes to quality, these are some high end frames. Made out of 7003 series alloy aircraft aluminum, extruded and CNC machined for final polish. Every single one of them comes in two versions: raw, natural metal and black anodized with gold decals.
