Rollerblade RB Inline Skates

8 items

If we were to describe RB models in short sentence, it would be straightforward: „good skates at fair price”. Rollerblade has managed to achieve something rarely seen: they have created a very well-made, robust urban skates without a premium price-tag. In fact, it is quite common to see skates of similar class costing significantly more.

RB are based around rigid, durable hardboot. The frame mounting is reinforced with metal plates that improve energy transfer and make boot-frame connection more solid. This is slowly becoming industry standard, but isn’t as obvious in case of cheaper models. Without a shadow of doubt, the most eye-catching features of the shell are two big holes on its sides. Worry not – they do not impact durability of the skate in negative way. Coupled with breathable liner made with mesh-like materials, these holes provide excellent air flow. If you remember old Twisters and were a fan of that boot – there’s a bit of that feeling here. The shell gives excellent level of ankle support and works well with big wheels too, which makes it increasingly popular choice for custom setups. Even the cheapest “Cruiser” version doesn’t give away that it’s a lower-budget offering.

The frame varies between versions, as expected. Rollerblade hit a wave of retro vibe with RB 80 Cruiser – the cheapest skates of the line is more for commuting and light urban skating, than demanding freeskating, because of more simplistic frame design. The more expensive RB Pro comes with stronger frame and is a great choice for more demanding users. There’s something for fans of triskates, too – RB 110 is a super solid 3 x 110 option for fast urban skating.

A huge advantage of the RB Cruiser and Pro variants is that they come with a brake. Why it’s a big deal, if these are freeskates, one may ask. The answer is simple – if a pair of RB skates will be the very first pair of skates for someone who is learning from scratch, the brake will come in handy until they will gain more confidence on skates.

If you look for a pair of solid skates worth their price - we recommend RB models wholeheartedly. These will make for excellent first pair of skates, too, and will last you a long time.
