Modern Rollerblade Twister skates are, as their name suggests, a successors to cult classic Twister skates. These are some big shoes to fill, considering that original Twisters were flagship freeskates of Italian brand for almost 15 years and literally sold millions of pairs. Thankfully, new Twisters live up to their name, delivering a skate that’s not a mere replacement, but an upgrade in literally every area when compared to their predecessors. The shell, cuff, liner, buckles, frames – everything has been designed from scratch.

Twister are on of the most visually striking skates on the market, thanks to their brutalistic, angular design, which makes them blending perfectly in to urban environment. The boot itself is stiffer and gives much better ankle support than old Twisters. Furthermore, Rollerblade equipped it with metal plates embedded in frame mounting points, which make the connection more solid and give you much better energy transfer. This effect is amplified by Anti Torsion Box, which is a hole underneath central part of the foot, framed with 3D structure, giving the whole shell more rigidity.

Thanks to solidity of this boot, it became a fan-favourite and one of the top picks on the market. It has even proven its worth in downhill. Arguably the only downside is that power plates embeeded in shell have only one threaded hole for frame mounting bolt. It is worth to let it slide, though - the plastic composite used to make the shell is premium and liner built from the ground up for this skate is one of the comfiest on the market. The frames and wheels do not disappoint. No matter which version of the skate you choose, they will come with high quality frames and wheels. Even the basic Twister Edge have very good Rollerblade Supreme wheels, whereas more expensive ones are equipped in top shelf Hydrogens. It is quite rare to see skates as fine-tuned in every smallest details as Twister Edge.
