Them 909 Inline Skates

Them Skates has been founded by aggressive inline skating legend, Jon Julio. Jon was a brand and team manager of Valo, directing this label for Roces for 15 years and did amazing job at making it one of the industry’s leaders. This partnership has came to an end, though, and Jon has found himself at the crossroads. Having his whole adult life revolving around inline skating, he has decided to take another shot at creating his own brand. This is how Them Skates brand was born.

Them Skates are classic aggressive inline skates – their first model, Them 908, is based on the same shell as numerous smaller brands skates from the 90’s. This shell itself is inspired by one of the old Bauer ones, owing the aesthetics to them.

The skates have received a new soulplate, which was improved further over time. Nowadays, 908 are among the most popular models for aggressive skating and perfect example of taking a “diamond in the rough” and polishing it to perfection. The company was quick to develop their own proprietary boot, called Them 909. Two models share only soulplates and, in case of some editions, liners. Shells and cuffs are completely different. The 909 boot was designed by Kyle Sola, undoubtedly the most known and famous industrial designer in world of skating. 908 are solid skates already, but 909 raise the stakes with more streamlined, classy looks and a nice bonus of ability to change cuff position. The fact that many editions come with Intuition liners makes them truly a premium piece of gear.
