Product Description

Roadhouse, or Randy Spizer, is a former professional inline skater from the early 1990s. Randy represented something new and motivated the younger generation to skate. The generation of skaters before Roadhouse was very 'grown up' and seemed to take skating very seriously. When Randy came along, he looked like he was simultaneously having fun and skating better than everyone else, and many young skaters could identify with his style. The then iconic company Senate captured his image perfectly with their wildly popular anti rocker Crayon wheels, which instantly became a cult product.

To honour the 25th anniversary of the Senate “Roadhouse” anti rockers, Dead Wheels known for its business model based on hot collaborations, teams up with Randy Spizer and Arlo Eisenberg to create an authentic update of this classic.

The Dead x Roadhose set includes: a set of standard 58 mm 92a wheels, a set of 45 mm 101a anti rocker wheels, a metal pin, a pack of stickers and an amazing set of collector's cards with behind-the-scenes footage from the filming of the video accompanying the launch of the entire project. The photos were taken by respected photographer Shawn Engler (Rejects magazine, Radius Media).

According to Dead Wheels' designers, the 58 mm size is the optimum size for both street and skate park use. A versatile size whose small diameter ensures a low centre of gravity and therefore offering much easier grinds. At the same time, 58 mm is big enough to help with stability when skating over any bumps. The slightly rounded profile means an increased contact area with a surface, which also translates into improved durability.

The 92a hardness wheel is a widely-used and versatile option suitable for everyday use. It strikes a balance between grip and lower friction while grinding, making it suitable for both street skating and smooth skate park surfaces. It is an ideal choice for those who often skate in various locations or are unsure of their personal hardness preference. A popular use for Dead Wheels 58 mm 92a is as an outer wheel in the traditional anti-rocker setup.

About manufacturer

Other products of this producer

Inline skating wheels are by far the most frequently replaced component of our skate gear. The current market is obviously flooded with different manufacturers engaged in the production of specialized wheels for various purposes, but as far as the aggressive inline skating scene is considered, one of the most respected brands is Dead Wheels.

The project is the result of a collaboration between well-known film maker Adam Johnson and a blade goat Alex Broskow. Adam made his mark on the scene with the iconic KFC video series, which undeniably helped spur Alex Broskow's fruitful career. Over the years, both have been heavily involved in a number of other projects (Street ArtistVibralux), but in retrospect it is Dead Wheels that can be considered as their greatest success.

The reason for the brand's immense popularity lies in its unique business model and products that possess key features, seamlessly fitting in with current hardware and trick trends. Dead Wheels supports a permanent pro team featuring top skaters like David Sizemore, Marius GaileSoichiro Kanashima, Gavin Drumm, Dom Bruce and John Bolino, but it is the brand's collaborations that truly set it apart. These skilfully curated projects, such as limited edition Too EasyBacemint and 5th Floor wheels, as well as the highly popular reissue of Randy Spizer's vibrant pro models from the late 90s, have been warmly embraced by the inline skating community.

Without a doubt, Dead Wheels are top-of-the-line products. They have been put to the test by the world's most talented aggressive skaters and remain one of the few brands still manufacturing their products in the USA. The urethane compound is tried and true, the cores are solid, and what really sets them apart is the distinctive shape that's available in the most sought-after sizes: 56 mm58 mm, and the increasingly popular 80 mm diameter. The brand is always refining the offer, ensuring they are tailored to the current needs of their customers while their superb marketing is demonstrated through sick promotional videos, expertly shot by Adam Johnson.
