Product details
Fluid IV is widely known product of Kizer, one of the oldest aggressive frame company alive. Classic, one piece frames for street and park skating, designed strictly for anti rocker setups (two bigger outer wheels and two smaller inner wheels). Giving unprecedented freedom with grinding due to wide split between the inner wheels. The unique shaped groove with rounded ledges, makes locking grinds much more enjoyable. As a result Kizer Fluid IV frames are undoubtedly the ones, which do not need a long break in period. Being tested by such skaters like Eugen Enin, you can be sure that Fluid IV frames are ready for intense action from the very first moment of putting them on.
Obviously, one of the most recognizable feature of Kizer IV is its hardness. Made out of proven mix of special Nylon and carbon fibre, offers unique combination allowing smooth and long grinds on all materials and obstacles. It is especially noticeable when skating modern skate parks with plenty of galvanized angle finishing, where softer, composite frames will not work just as good.
Harder frames mean more rigidity, what translates for improved energy transfer. Equipped with sturdy aluminium frame spacers holding wheels and bearings in the right place, Fluid IV assure very fast rolling experience. Even though anti rocker setups are not considered as the quickest ones, skaters expecting kind of slower ride can be really surprised!
The purpose and the character of strictly anti rocker frame excludes the option of using four wheels of the same size. Maximum size of an outer wheel is 60 mm, while with the middle ones, we are free to choose anything between 42 mm to 47 mm diameter.
For optimal size match between a skate shell and a frame, Kizer Fluid IV are available in three size ranges:
- S = 246 mm
- M = 258 mm
- L = 266 mm
Such solution provides a better way of lining up a backslide plate with the frame groove, thus bringing a hassle-free and much more enjoyable experience while performing any H-Block based tricks.
Weighting only 240 g in the Large size, Kizer Fluid IV frames are conclusively a great choice for skaters who love to grind. Light yet super durable frame with the lowest possible height, improving balance and stability.
About manufacturer
Kizer is one of the most important frame companies on inline skating market. They are a branch of Powerslide and have their technical expertise behind every product in line-up. The brand is mostly focused on aggressive inline skating and has been in the game since late 90’s, delivering revolutionary products for enthusiasts of both flat and anti-rocker setups. The amount of improvements Kizer brought to aggressive inline is nothing but impressive.
More recently, in mid 2010’s, Kizer have kick-started a big wheel revolution with their “powerblading” frames. These were basically freeskating frames with wheels up to 80 mm, you could still grind ledges and copings on. The first models lacked groove, but third one, the iconic Level 2, changed the landscape of frame market completely. Riding flat became fashionable again, skaters fell in love with additional speed, stability and control this type of setup gives and more companies started to develop their own frames for various wheel sizes. Truth to be told, we owe the current abundance of great flat frame options to Kizer trying something different.
Even though Kizer powerblading frames are no longer that popular, the company is still commited to innovate and releases a big wheel freeskating frames, like Flux, which is their first non-UFS model ever (uses Trinity mounting), alongside more traditional UFS-based aggressive models.
