Next are freeskates made by Powerslide. Before they hit the market, the German brand has been already know for pretty good freeskates, with Imperial models being a highlight. Still, a decision has been made that company needs an entirely new skate. Why?

The answer is simple: Trinity mounting. The company has developed an innovative frame mounting system which lowers the setup height, increases control over skates, benefits energy transfer and allows you to combine any boot and frame as long as both are compatible with it. Trinity was a significant technological leap for Powerslide and they have been gradually introducing the system in their skates. Rather than trying to rework existing model to use new frame mounting, Germans have decided to design an entirely new skate from the ground-up.

Next were made in cooperation with skaters. They were involved at all design stages – in fact, Powerslide were sending out a pretty detailed survey to their team riders and friends, asking for information, how a next-generation hardboot should be like. This feedback allowed designers to tweak the skates down to fine details at early stage of production.

Next have a rigid shell, providing an excellent ankle support. It is equipped with hockey-style lacing, which locks your heel in place. The cuff comes with canting, allowing you to choose from four different positions – this feature has never been used by Powerslide in the past. The slider on the boot side known from older freeskates has been basically re-invented and given form of strip, protecting not only sides of the skate but also the front. Next were made to take full advantage of Trinity mounting system, placing the wheels as close to the foot as possible. Inside the shell resides high quality liner underneath which you’ll find a generous shock-absorber. Next perform great no matter what frame they are matched with and thus, you can select from multiple stock setups.
