Rollerblade Apex Inline Skates

The Rollerblade brand is well known for high quality urban skates since their very first Twister version hit the market back in 2005. Over the years, they have released a lot more freeskating oriented models: Fusion, RB 80, Metroblade and Twister Edge. All of them are/were very good skates and met a bigger or lesser success when it comes to market reception. It is a bit surprising, then, that Italian brand has not really translated that experience to skates for children for all these years. Especially seeing that competition was busy releasing their own freeskates for kids.

Rollerblade are catching up in style, and we must say it – they are doing more than just that, they are getting ahead of the pack and doing laps around others, raising the bar with new Apex model. All things we love about Rollerblade’s skates: high quality materials, great tech, premium finish, and superb design, are here. Even though these are adjustable skates, they do not feel that way and are super solid, proper urban skates. There are three size variants to choose from, each of them adjustable in four full sizes.

What is striking after taking Apex out of the box, is how lavish they feel. A high quality, semi-matte plastic compound used to mold the shell is looking very good and have excellent level of rigidity, giving superb ankle support. Inside the shell resides a Premium liner, made out of the very best materials Rollerblade is using in their skates. Extruded frame with CNC finish is rigid and makes the skates super responsive. What is more, the frame length is different for each of the three available shell sizes – thanks to this, kids of all ages get the best balance between agility, control, speed and stability. The wheels used in these skates have strong cores and are safe to jump on them.

Rollerblade once again reminded us why a whole sport has taken a name after them. Granddaddy of rollerblading returns in style and Apex skates are worthy of their name – they are really top dog among freeskates for children.
