Rollerblade Inline Skates
84 itemsRollerblade is the single most important company in the history of inline skating. That’s not an opinion – it is a fact. The brand history goes back to year 1980, when two Olson brothers, avid hockey fans have „rediscovered” the inline skates. Yes, contrary to popular belief, Rollerblade has not invented inline skates – they were around for much longer, however, due to limitations of earlier technology no one could make them “work” that well. For decades, many people have tried, inline skates were always losing to more widespread and better made rollerskates. Olsons have found earlier, imperfect incarnation of inline skates and decided that they know how to make them better for off-season hockey training. They have created a company under iconic name Rollerblade – a word that has been since used as synonym to “inline skate”.
The rollerblading popularity has exploded with time and the company has been steadily growing, too. New markets have opened – there was an emergence of aggressive skating, a movement in which the company has invested a lot since the very beginning. At the beginning of 90’s Rollerblade started selling their product overseas. Year 1991 was especially important, as it has become a part of sport industry giant, Nordica.
Fast-forward to our times and you’ll find that Rollerblade is still very much a pillar of our favourite sport. Their way of doing things seems to be “think twice before you make a move” and thus, the company does not innovate as much as some competitors. However, this approach works: when Rollerblade commit in to something, they do excellent job at it and their failed designs and ideas from the last decade can be counted on fingers of one hand.
Rollerblade skates are always well-made, reliable and created using the best quality materials. The brand offers models for almost all major skating styles: rec and fitness, long distance and speedskating, urban skating and aggressive. In the end, the only major omission is the freestyle slalom – Rollerblade have never invested in that area, which is a bit puzzling, given that older Twisters have raised an entire generation of champions of skating between the cones.
When you are buying Rollerblade skates, you are choosing quality, simple as that.
