Product Description

For the 2022 Fall season the Italian brand is presenting the newest edition to 5th Element family – Roces 5th Element Yuto Goto — Asayake Blue. The third signature skate model of Japanese blading virtuosi Yuto, the skater of unmatched steez and an outstanding technique. After almost a year break due to complicated shoulder surgery, Yuto is coming back with a vengeance. He connects with a well known videographer Dom West and films a superb video part in Australia to showcase the new skate in action.

5th Element skates are basically a refreshed version of the flagship Roces aggressive skate from the 90s, improved with some new solutions, in line with the current standards. Spacey shell, manufactured out of innovative mix of two different PU mixes ensures characteristic flexibility and great freedom in fitting. Skaters with wider feet will appreciate the soft and moldable plastic around the lacing system, eliminating any pressure points.

The shell is firmly fixed to the durable, two piece Roces sou plate (based on older Valo parts) making it a solid and supportive base for the softer top. Impressive soul space area both on the negative and positive side, as well as correctly lined royale groove are commonly recognizable features of the current 5th Element models.

Contrary to the competition, Roces is not afraid of experimenting with colours. Having accustomed its fans to unusual, distinctive pro models, the new Yuto skate comes with very popular this season bright shade of blue. Along with the original mixed soul plate colours, the product definitely stands out from the crowd! Contrasting with light brown Roces Comfort liner which provides optimal comfort while offering full ankle protection and support. An additional advantage is its neoprene finish around the toes, which makes adjusting even easier.

Standard lacing system is still the simplest yet the most effective way to tighten up your skates. Thanks to special cuts in the middle of the soft top of lacing area, the skate provides great range of forward flex. Particularly noteworthy, however, is the Memory buckle with the option of “saving” its position — once set, it will always remain the same length, eliminating the need for constant adjustment.

Roces 5th Element Yuto Goto — Asayake Blue skates are now available in four shell sizes:

  • Size 1 — marked by the manufacturer as EU 39-40, in reality it is 250-255 mm
  • Size 2 — marked by the manufacturer as EU 41-42, in reality it is 260-270 mm
  • Size 3 — marked by the manufacturer as EU 43-44, its real length is 280-285 mm
  • Size 4 — marked by the manufacturer as EU 45-46, its real length is 290-295 mm

We highly suggest choosing at least a size smaller than our shoes for optimal fit.

The Roces 5th Element Yuto Goto — Asayake Blue skates will be a perfect choice for skaters with larger and wider feet, as well as for all those who start their adventure with grinding. Thanks to the considerable flexibility and the unprecedented size of the soul plate, the 5th Element models will not be as demanding as their older brother Roces M12.

About manufacturer

Other products of this producer Roces

Roces company was founded in year 1952 in small Italian city Montebellunar, 50 km from Venice. The brand initially made leather trekking and skiing boots, in time adopting new technologies and possibilities brought by plastic revolution. In year 1978, Roces has made world’s first ice skates with plastic moulded boot. Several years later, Vasco Casavin, already a second generation of company’s owners, meet Scott Olson, a founder of Rollerblade at Los Angeles trade shows. They’ve struck a deal and so begins Roces journey with inline skating – initially limited to making skates for Rollerblade.

The first Roces boot mold is named PRO – the very same shell as the now legendary M12 boot, which is still made today. After a decade of cooperation, two brands split ways and Roces releases their very own skates range in 1994 – showcasing them to general public on trade shows in LA, once again. This was a major surprise for the industry – Rollerblade was already a very strong and well known brand, but few were aware that Roces were behind making their skates.

Roces had perfect timing with the reveal, seeing that inline skating popularity has exploded in mid 90’s. In year 1996, Roces has released the very first „true” aggressive skates, built from the ground up for this demanding style, with low and reinforced frame  – namely, the Majestic 12. The brand’s history is closely tied with aggressive skating from that point. It is worth to note that even when Roces had joined forces with the inline skating legend, Jon Julio, to create Valo brand, which lasted for about a decade, the M12 skate never went out of production.

Other styles were as much influenced by Roces as aggressive. They were the first brand to offer a wide range of inline hockey skates and in year 1995 they have released what now can be called an ancestor of freeskates – Roces Sydney, coming with supportive hardboot, strong aluminium frame, rockering option and 76mm wheels. Back then, Roces already had carbon speedskating boots in their catalogue. In year 1997, Big Cat hit the market – one of the first off-road skates and precursor of modern roller skis. In the same year, Mexico City 5 was released for downhill enthusiasts – the very first harboot skate to come with 5 wheeled frame, stock.

During 60 years of their history, Roces has been setting the trends and actively supported skating scene. They are one of foundations of our favourite sport and their influence cannot be overestimated. Roces skates are result of years worth of development, knowledge and experience.
