Their biggest advantage is that you can go to the ice rink in your comfortable, well-fitting, and foot-holding skate boot, rather than relying on the lottery called rental. Choosing runners thus becomes very advantageous, as it eliminates the risk of chafing and long break-in time that may accompany the purchase of new equipment. Rental is a roll of the dice when it comes to fit and condition of the boots, so why not use a boot that you are sure of and fits you well instead.
In terms of price to quality, for "Sunday skaters", it's an unbeatable offer. Buying new quality figure or hockey skates is still a considerable expense. Constant renting also incurs costs. Buying just the runners to mount in your favorite pair of rollerblades for the price of four medium-class wheels is a very sensible solution. Truth is, you won’t get a pair of decent hockey skates for the price of the Runners.
