Fitness skates from K2

Softboot means comfort

The sudden popularity of inline skates boosted sales so much, that skates themselves come in short supply nowadays. Especially ones targeted towards newcomers, who want to start their journey with this awesome sport. Good news is that we have managed to get our hands on several recreational/fitness skates models from K2!

Most likely many of you know the K2 brand for its skiing and snowboarding equipment. K2 Skates branch functions for decades now and is the only big company to define their products by a single rule: comfort comes first. Thus, where others push for performance at the expense of comfort, claiming that softboots are good only for recreation and fitness, K2 proves that it’s possible to not make that trade-off.

Lightweight, breathable, comfortable softboot construction of K2 skates makes them a favourite of skaters worldwide. Even though the company doesn’t innovate that much, one cannot deny them mastery in the field they specialize in. The build quality and materials of these skates are at high level, too. Overall, when you jump into K2 Skates, you get a feeling like having comfortable sneakers on your feet.

Our shop stocks several variants of classic recreational skates, all equipped with 4 x 80mm wheel setup for ease of taking the very first steps into a world of inline skating. The attached brake provides a safe solution for stopping, which is so important when you are learning how to handle your new pair of funky shoes with wheels. Every model listed here comes in two versions: for men and women. It’s not just a colourway that makes them different — the option for ladies is a bit slimmer, giving fit better adjusted to their anatomy.

K2 EXO 6.0

Simple construction, lightweight skate with unibody — the frame and outer boot skeleton are one piece. This makes the frame, made out of the same stiff material as rest of the composite parts, relatively rigid and giving better energy transfer to wheels than in case of riveted plastic frames. The boot comes with a classic lacing system, Velcro strap to secure the heel and plastic buckle on top — simple and efficient. The 80mm diameter wheels with 80A hardness give comfort of rolling when learning how to skate.

Kinetic 80 series: Pro, Pro II and Pro LE

Three variants of the same skate, a successor to EXO line. Most of the parameters remain unchanged compared to EXO — we are still getting the same unibody construction, similar closure system, 80mm 80A wheels. The big improvement is the quick lacing system — allowing you to just pull it to have a boot perfectly wrapped around your foot in seconds.

K2 Freedom

Skates intended for users that look for recreational skates with a potential for more workout-oriented skating in the future. The boot is similar to one in skates described above but lacks quick lacing system. However, the frame is no longer one piece with outer skeleton — it’s an aluminium frame riveted to the boot. This gives it a little of extra rigidity, allowing for acquiring higher speeds. The skate is also lighter, as aluminium frames weight less than composite ones. While the skate comes with the same soft 80A wheels, when you’ve learned how to skate you can replace them with harder set, taking full advantage of more fitness oriented nature of this skate.
