Playlife is a budget oriented brand of Powerslide, targeted at beginners and intermediate skaters who look for decent equipment at competitive price. German brand makes multiple types of gear under Playlife name, including ice skates.
Just like in case of other ice skates of this type, for example ones made by Bladerunner (which is to Rollerblade what Playlife is to Powerslide), these are value oriented, made for recreation and targeted towards beginners or more experienced skaters who do not aim to become professionals.
Playlife Classic are just that. Pick them if you want to have your own pair of skates for going to local rink (or frozen lake) from several to dozen times per season, but do not want to use rental service.
Boot have vinyl base and outer skin, which make it water resistant and requiring very little maintenance compared to skates made out of natural leather. They are free of any animal derived materials! Classic style of high lacing boot guarantees tight fit and heel lock. The lace hooks used instead of top three pairs of eyelets make it easy to put skates on and tighten them. Inner padding is covered with velvet, providing additional insulation.
Skates have classic figurine style blade with teeth at the front. It is made out of stainless steel and pre-sharpened. We highly recommend taking the skates to sharpening service first, however, as it is made more for safety reasons – so no beginner would enter the ice in skates with “raw” blades, as it wouldn’t end well.
