FR FRX 80 - Orangefreeskate inline skates
FR Skates focuses on sturdy freeride inline skates and high-end models for freestyle slalom. Skate models in the FR series have set technological standards for urban skating for over a decade, and even today, they surpass most of the competition's models.
Features of the FR FRX 80 — Orange inline skates
- Sturdy Shell — Made of durable material, featuring a range of conveniences appreciated by every user. The shell itself is cut a bit more than usual for skates in this class, increasing comfort, especially for people with high arches.
- Removable Slider — Protection on the side of the boot designed to minimize damage during sliding.
- Fixed Cuff mounted on standard screw — There's no option to change its position, which is not a significant drawback, especially compared to competitor models, which usually don't have this feature either.
- FR Liner — Comfortable, anatomically shaped liner with a lacing option at the top for better foot retention.
- Lacing and Closure System — Strong Velcro for heel retention and a plastic buckle on the cuff with a classic receptor. Using Velcro slightly reduces the weight of the skates and allows the manufacturer to offer a more favourable price while maintaining good foot retention. For those interested, there is naturally the option to easily replace it with a traditional buckle.
Standard 165 mm frame mounting
165 mm Mounting — The skate shells are compatible with most frame models in this standard, including three-wheel frames, which are easier to mount due to a special indentation at the front plate, preventing the first wheel from rubbing against the shell.
Frame with classic 4x80 mm setup
X2R Frames, 243 mm long in the classic 4x80 mm setup. This creates a manoeuvrable, versatile set, reliable in urban conditions and for jumps or slides in freeride skating.
The X2R frame features a rockering system, allowing the position of the outer axes to be changed — enabling the popular “banana” setup without needing smaller diameter wheels.
- Wheels: 8x Street Kings 80 mm 84a
- Bearings: Twincam MW7 Freeride
FR FRX 80 - Orange inline skates are an excellent choice for beginners!
These characteristics make the FRX the top model for those starting their freeskate journey and wanting to try different styles. They are perfect for taking the first steps in urban skating, slides, and freestyle slalom. Proven design and sensible cost-cutting compared to higher models in the FR series resulted in skates that are relatively low-priced without sacrificing quality. The FRX has long been the reference point for all other budget models of the competition.
About manufacturer
FR Skates is second brand created by freestyle slalom legend, Sebastien Laffargue. It branched off from Seba in second half of year 2016 and includes mostly the freeskating range of skates taken from the predecessor, namely the FR line of skates. However, Sebastien has decided to take some of high-end freestyle slalom skates under new brand, like the highly regarded Igor for example. Thus, FR Skates have become a flagship brand of its creator and can be considered an aggregation of best products and ideas released under Seba label up to year 2016. It doesn’t mean that lower price offerings haven’t made the cut – the extremely popular entry level FRX are still available!
FR Skates continues Seba legacy of quality, wide availability of parts and innovation. Sebastien and his pals have hands full of work and try to push the sport in to new directions with FR Skates. It’s worth to mention an innovative concept of 90-72-72-90 freestyle slalom frames or that they’ve delivered a wide range of UFS based freeskating frames. The brand even makes super light and extra stiff full carbon frames – of course, it’s not the first company to make frames out of this material, but the first to use the technology to make frames for cone slalom.
FR Skates brand gains momentum with every new product and is on the way to eclipse achievements of its precursor, Seba. They truly have something for every freeskating or freestyle slalom enthusiast – be it solid entry level skates for newcomers, models for those who demand a lot from the equipment, people who like unconventional hardware and those who prefer sticking with classic setups.

Great!!
Had them for a little bit now, very nice. Break in period of course. if your feet are a little wider or huskier i would suggest one size up (ie you measure and fit a 40, buy a 41 for comfort width wise, length wise a smidge extra room isn't the end of the world.) Recommend to beginners and intermediate looking for a boot with more structure but also some maneuverability. Highly recommend!
