Product details

Product Description

Gawds presents an extensive range of products designed for aggressive inline skating, including esteemed wheels, apparel, and a rich selection of accessories, and most importantly, high-quality inline skates. Emphasizing the development of modern technologies aimed at enhancing performance, Gawds products are gaining increasing recognition among rollerblading enthusiasts.

For the 2023 season, Gawds introduces the second signature edition of the Michael Prado skates, which, unlike previous Gawds models, no longer resemble sports shoes but, with their striking black-and-white colour scheme, reflect Michael's unmatched style and attitude.

Gawds Michael Prado II are hybird design

  • The Gawds Michael Prado II skates feature a hybrid construction combining a hard, fiberglass-reinforced, composite shell with flexible fabric detailing. Additional reinforcement in the toe and heel areas with thick leather improves abrasion resistance in the most vulnerable spots.
  • The integrated liner is hand-fitted and directly connected to the fiberglass-reinforced shell, ensuring excellent performance and the characteristic responsiveness of hybrid skates.
  • The absence of traditional plastic buckles — both the upper closure and the heel strap at an optimal 45-degree angle are now durable and flexible Velcro. This makes the Gawds Michael Prado II models more reminiscent of traditional shoes and additionally offers an increased range of forward-backward movement and noticeable weight reduction.
  • The minimalist cuff with numerous cuts and a contoured V-cut provides comfortable and secure foot support. Available in three different sizes for even better harmonization with the specific shell size.

High-quality components

  • The Kizer Fluid IV frame, designed for anti-rocker setup, is known for its hardness. Lightweight yet incredibly durable, this frame has a maximally low centre of gravity for optimal balance. Offered in three different lengths to suit individual preferences and correct fit to the skate shell.
  • The Gawds Michael Prado pro model wheels feature a popular 60 mm diameter and a universal 90a hardness for good grip on both smooth skatepark surfaces and streets. Complete with Wicked Abec 9 bearings.
  • The 45 mm centre wheels facilitate all kinds of grinds, and the use of standard bearings makes the skates less noisy on uneven surfaces.

Gawds Michael Prado II — worth knowing!

The Gawds Michael Prado II skates do not offer a heat moulding option — the built-in liner allows for proper foot fitting right out of the box. The hybrid construction means a much shorter period of 'getting used to' the new skates.

The Gawds Michael Prado II models have the same construction as the previously used USD Carbon Free models. So, if you were a fan of these compact, fairly low skates, the new Gawds offering will be a perfect choice.

Gawds is a brand of aggressive skates created by one of the industry’s legends, Franky Morales. A long time pro skater for USD has decided to launch his own brand in cooperation with Powerslide, using their technology but coming up with new design of the boot. It comes no surprise that he modeled their looks after Air Jordan XII shoe, seeing that Franky is a massive sneakerhead and his previous pro-models from USD were also based on the iconic sneaker line. Coincidentally, the AJ XII were also template for the legendary Remedyz skates, later known as Remz. Franky was a Remz Pro at one point, too!

Seeing that Franky’s attitude, life and style are heavily influenced by and related to hip-hop culture, he also aimed to bring more of that street cred into skating. Hip-hop culture was a major part of inline skating in 90’s but the trend has started to fade and later on, very few Pro in aggressive scene have incorporated these aesthetics in their own personal brand. Nowadays you are more likely to hear indie rock music than heavy beats and lyrics in aggressive edits and videos. Thus, Franky also designed a line of accessories and clothing to better reflect his roots and make his brand standing out more.

In 2021, Gawds has came under Disroyal umbrella - while still having business ties to Powerslide, it is now distributed by a new company focused on delivering premium skate gear.
