Product details
The company K2 is probably best known to the wider audience for winter sports, but did you know that it has been producing inline skates for 25 years? It can confidently be said that this U.S. based company is already a veteran in the industry, having provided equipment primarily for inline skaters who strongly focus on comfort.
K2 Trio LT 100 M — Flexible and comfortable
- The K2 Trio LT 100 M is based on a so-called “softboot”, i.e., lightweight, breathable skates supported by reduced plastic skeleton. Their unique character distinctly stands out among other fitness skating models on the market.
- The technology, exclusively developed by K2, offers comfortable equipment for simply having fun rolling around or as means of commuting.
- Lightweight construction does excellent job at expelling moisture. However, it's worth noting that the covering is reinforced in key areas with a layer of synthetic material — to protect the skates from abrasions during falls.
K2 Trio LT 100 M inline skates — for whom?
- The Trio LT models are an excellent choice for those looking for light, agile, and relatively fast inline skates for recreational use, fitness, or commuting on bike paths.
- The 3x100 wheel setup on a relatively short frame performs excellently in such conditions, and the overall lightness of the construction makes these inline skates easy to transport when you want/need to change into shoes. Not to mention that the softboot is almost as quick and easy to put on as sports shoes.
BOA quick lacing system
The BOA lacing, which tightens the boot using steel threads — the lacing force is regulated with a precision dial. A strong Velcro strap to lock the heel in place and a buckle on the cuff complete the whole. The minimalist frame provides a good base for pushing off and offers the right level of support for the ankle joint.
K2 Trio LT 100 M - worth knowing!
The frame is a lightweight, two-part construction made of extruded aluminium, connected to the boot with strong rivets. This is not equipment for freeskating, but it should not disappoint on dedicated skating paths. As is usually the case with K2 products, it uses two-piece 6 mm axles, which in combination with special spacers ensure optimal performance of the included ILQ7 bearings.
Wheels with a diameter of 100 mm and a hardness of 83A provide a comfortable ride while maintaining the potential for developing higher speeds.
K2's equipment can be called synonymous with comfort and practically has no competition in the category of three-wheeled fitness inline skates, in terms of low weight and ease of putting on. If you need fast gear for moving around the city, commuting to work, or just for the pure fun, the K2 Trio LT 110 M are perfectly suited for these purposes.
About manufacturer
K2 Skates is an inline skating division of winter sports and outdoor powerhouse, K2. Americans have never hesitated from forging their own path and have shaken up the industry when they have entered the market back in 1993. K2 is the company that invented the softboot concept, a lightweight, breathable and comfortable boot design attached to and supported by relatively minimalist outer skeleton. The fact that, 30 years later, all major skate manufacturers make their recreational and fitness skates using the same template, speaks for itself. K2 did something right here.
The core offering of the company remains unchanged, though: they are, and always have been, lightweight and comfortable skates. When you put K2 Skates on, they feel like a good pair of running shoes. This is what makes them so popular among fitness-oriented and casual audiences who skate purely for fun. It doesn’t mean that by choosing K2 Skates we sacrifice quality – the company still goes head to head with other industry’s giants in that area.
