Rollerblade Blank Inline Skates

Rollerblade Blank skates are return to form in style. And not just in style, but in an exceptional style. If you remember Rollerblade Solo skates made years ago, you’ll quickly spot the similarities. Indeed, Blank are based around the same shell shape, but everything else has been redesigned and upgraded to serve needs of modern aggressive skaters. As a result, new Blanks are one of the best hardboot skates your money can buy.

Shell has been cleaned up – vent holes and shiny patches of plastic are gone, it is now a full shell with classy matte look. Rollerblade is known for using only highest quality plastics in their skates and Blanks are no exception – these feel truly premium when you hold them in your hands. Cuff has been designed from the ground up and now uses classic buckle instead of wide Velcro strap found on Solo, with adequate protection the part, of course.

Shock-absorber has remained the same as in older model, but perfection doesn’t need any adjustments – it sits flush with bottom of the shell, tilting your foot a bit on to your toes, improving control and making for a more dynamic push, just like in case of hockey skates. It does the job of dampening vibrations and shocks on landings very well, seeing that it is 2 cm in its’ thickest spot!

The new version of Blank liner is of such high quality that it can easily go toe to toe with industry’s best. This time it is slimmer, with neoprene toe, making it more suitable for a wider audience. It also comes with lacing system which is done better than in previous version.

Soulplates are the most meaningful change – these are work of Kyle Sola, industrial engineer famous for his style and great functionality of products related to skating. Soulplates look much better than old style ones from Solo and still preserve one of the biggest advantages of this boot – frames being mounted directly, not on top of soulplates. Blank are the perfect choice if you want to use taller frames made for bigger wheels, as they are kind of “sunken in” soulplates, making certain tricks easier.

Frame looks the same as older Blank one, but its’ groove has been reshaped to be better suited for grinds when skating flat setup. Premium Hydrogen wheels are included – their urethane blend is grippy and durable.

Rollerblade Blank skates are a true masterpiece and one of the best aggressive inline hardboots on the market. Italian brand is making a great comeback!
