Bauer Vapor 3X RH Sr is a solid mid-tier offering among hockey skates. These are intended mostly for semi-pro players and more ambitious amateurs, for whom top-tier models are an overkill. 3X is also suitable skate for more competitive, professional play in case of people of low to medium weight. However, heavier and elite players should consider upgrading to 3X Pro.

Bauer have perfectly balanced price and quality. The boot is based around injected mesh composite quarter package. It is not the same as carbon laminate known from 3X Pro, but still tops most skates out there when it comes to rigidity, making the skates highly responsive. It is also lightweight. The boot is heatmoldable, although heel lock is outstanding even right out of the box. The outsole is made of rigid TPU material.

The boot’s tongue is designed to provide excellent level of moisture management and offers high level of comfort, preventing abrasions, while still doing a great job protecting your foot and akle area. The skate comes with asymmetrical, low profile toe cap which greatly increases level of control. The cuff area is equipped with comfort edge system – there are more flexible material inserts at the top, which reduces pressure above the ankle during rapid maneuvers. The boot is equipped with a classic style Hi-Lo frame, fitting 80-80-76-76 wheel setup. This makes the center of balance very low and the foot is tilted forwards, which results in a more aggressive, dynamic skating stance. Frame is made out of high grade aluminum via CNC machining. It is super lightweight and durable. The wheels included in package are worthy of the rest of the skate – these are very good Labeda Gripper Crossover, providing great grip and all acceleration one could want. The ABEC9 Hi-Lo bearings are making sure they roll smoothly.

Bauer Vapor 3X RH Sr are definitely kings of the best price to quality ratio category. They cost 40% less than 3X Pro skates but still deliver a solid package which can be used in competitive play.
