Mushroom Blading skate wheels

Mushroom Blading skate wheels

Joey Mcgarry and Todd Mcinerney are two Canadian rollerblading enthusiasts who have been providing extraordinary video content and honest reviews of all rollerblading equipment for over 20 years. Pioneers in many fields, they were constantly ahead of their time, accurately predicting any new trends in the sport. Joey and Todd were among the first to promote flat setups, skating with bigger wheels or paying closer attention to inline skate liners design. This resulted in the increased popularity of products like Intuition liners and Wizard frames for artistic skating. Being versatile skaters with extensive equipment experience and a great understanding of needs and specific requirements, Joey and Todd enter the market with their own collection of wheels. Each designed with a specific application in mind, they offer optimum performance and impeccable quality.

The Mushroom Blading wheel collection is a collection of completely different models, characterized by distinct properties. Each has an individual name and distinctive graphics, but their recognizable common feature is the dark green colour — a reference to the older favourite Face Wheels that Todd and Joey rode a lot of over a decade ago.

Mushroom Blading Buddies wheel

MB Buddies — 58 mm 90a

A classic aggressive skating wheel with a semi-round profile. The reduced riding surface will provide great manoeuvrability and minimal risk of wheel bite when grinding. Buddies wheels will excel in lower flat setups, but their universal hardness of 90a will also allow them to be used in anti rocker frame. The Mushroom Blading Buddies wheel is modelled on the iconic K2 wheels from the 1990s, based on an original concept by Tom Hyser.

Mushroom Blading Toes wheel

MB Toes — 60 mm 90a

The 60 mm diameter is the optimal choice as an outer wheel for anti rocker or a fast flat setup used at skateparks. With a slightly larger riding surface, MB Toes models will be ideally suited as centre wheels for innovative Oysi chasis. When used in a flat setup, they can be mixed with Mushroom Blading Buddies models for a significant rocker, but please remember that the 60 mm size requires more precision and technique when performing tricks.

Mushroom Blading Tapes wheel

MB Tapes — 65 mm 90a

The MB Tapes model has been designed primarily as outer wheel for Oysi Medium frames. In this case, in a combination with MB Toes models that share the same properties (profile and hardness), they are the optimal mix for improved stability with the minimal rocker. Mushroom Blading Tapes wheels will also work well with Antoni Pottier's FLAT frames, dedicated to the 65 mm wheel size.

Mushroom Blading Faces wheel

MB Faces — 72 mm 87a

Wheels for everything — that's how the 72 mm size can be described in a nutshell. The most common inline skating wheel diameter since the late 1980s and early 1990s, popularized by the legendary Rollerblade Lighting TRS skate. 72 mm wheels are all about high speed while maintaining adequate control. An apt choice as an outside wheel for the classic Oysi chassis, as well as a capital option for popular urban skates like the Roces 1992, Impala or USD Aeon 72. Mushroom Blading Faces wheels are quite soft, their 87a hardness will offer good grip and a comfortable experience also with the Wizard PR76 frames.

Mushroom Blading Scribbles wheel

MB Scribbles 80 mm 87a

The 80 mm wheels are the most popular size for freestyle, slalom or just freeride in the broadest sense. A classic “big wheel” that has gained a lot of popularity due to its versatility. With a hardness of 87a, it still offers a smooth ride with sufficient grip during sharp turns. The shape of the Scribbles model will also help you perform all kinds of slide tricks. Mushroom Blading Scribbles can be used with most skates and frames that fit the 80 mm wheel size, such as the futuristic Wizard PR80 or the USD Aeon 80, a one of a kind hybrid of aggressive and urban skates. Remember, bigger wheels mean more fun on any surface!

Mushroom Blading Pants wheel

MB Pants 90 mm 87a

In 2014, the 'father' of the Wizard concept Leon Basin designed the innovative NR90 frame allowing for a unique blend of slalom, speed, aggressive and freestyle skating. The design instantly changed the approach to what is possible on big wheels and opened up new horizons in the development of inline skating. The Mushroom Blading Pants wheels were created for just that. A reinforced core for increased durability and a slightly lower hardness of 87a for comfortable street skating and smoother slide tricks. The MB Pants model is Todd's favourite wheel!

Mushroom Blading Mugs wheel

MB Mugs 100 mm 90a

Like the MB Pants models, the MB Mugs wheels were developed as a dedicated solution for the Wizard NR100 frame, designed by Leon Basin in 2014. Previously considered as a size used only for professional speed and long distance skating, it has gradually managed to convince a growing community to use them in other ways. Hardness of 90a for increased speed, both on the street and smooth park surfaces. As an interesting aside, the MB Mugs model is the successor to the first ever 100 mm pro wheels, originally produced for the Mushroom Blading guys by the Undercover brand.
