Powerslide Swell – fitness skates for demanding users
Powerslide changed the way we think about fitness skating a few years ago with the Swell models. In times when more and more fitness skate manufacturers are focusing not only on quality but also on design, Powerslide met the expectations of consumers by designing a line of top-tier models equipped with the new technologies and looking like fashionable sports footwear.
Powerslide Swell 110 Eco revolutionizes the approach to ecology in the world of inline skating. Their shell and cuffs, made from recycled plastic, are additionally reinforced with wheat, providing higher durability and ecological awareness.
The frame, created from reclaimed and reused aluminum, ensures solid performance while supporting the idea of a green planet. Choosing Powerslide Swell means opting for inline skating experiences that are both exciting and environmentally friendly.
Composite Shell with integrated padding
The Powerslide Swell 110 Eco model is based on a boot with integrated padding, built around a rigid, composite shell. The boot's covering is made of durable, breathable, and moisture-wicking synthetic material.
- Padding with 3DAP technology - Instead of standard foams, the interior of the boot is cast, using low-density, resilient polyurethane. To ensure moisture wicking, such a cast has many small holes hidden under the covering.
- The tongue features so-called flex cuts - incisions that allow it to better conform to the top of the foot. This results in the skates not requiring a break-in period – from the first wear, the flexible padding will perfectly adapt to the shape of the foot.
- Canting System – The Powerslide Swell uppers offer the possibility to lower their position with special pads under the mounting screws, providing an even better range of motion.
- High lacing, a buckle on the upper, and a strap that further presses down the heel – thanks to these, the foot is properly secured in the boot.
With Swell on your feet, it's hard to believe that these are skates designed for fitness skating. All because Powerslide, in designing the Swell boot, drew from experiences gained in developing freeskate models.
Powerslide Swell Eco 110 – for whom?
In essence, Swell can be called a "fitness+" model, as they are suitable not only for regular skating on park paths. They will not be daunted by city rides, will perform excellently in marathons, long routes, and intense aerobic workouts. In each of these scenarios, the anatomically shaped padding will ensure maximum comfort. The moisture and air-permeable boot covering will envelop your feet like a second skin.
Trinity Mounting Versatility
Trinity Mounting Standard – This patented solution uses three screws to mount the frame to the boot, with two in the front located next to the wheel line, not above it. This allows designers to lower the center of gravity as much as possible, positioning the wheels as close to the foot as possible. This makes the skates much easier to control. Meanwhile, the more stable support provided by the three contact points of the boot with the frame results in better energy transfer during push-off, leading to faster skating with less effort.
Full compatibility with a wide range of Trinity frames – if you want to try a different chassis, you don't have to wonder whether the frames will fit your boot, as is the case with 165 mm or 195 mm mounting. Want to turn your Swell into even faster skates? You can equip them with a longer frame for larger wheels. Or go the other way and switch the chassis for an easier-to-control and lower 4x80 set in a 243mm frame. You'll lose speed but gain maneuverability.
Dedicated Elite Frame Lengths with 3x110 Setup
In the Powerslide Swell Eco 110, we find different frame lengths depending on the boot size.
- Size EU 38-41 - Elite cast AL 9.6" (243mm) Frame
- Size EU 42-47 - Elite Synchro 10.6" (270mm) Frame
This is important because it guarantees a stable base for push-off and a good compromise between maneuverability and speed for each user. In both cases, the frame has a low profile, so the distance from the foot to the wheels is as small as possible. It accommodates three 110 mm wheels, which is a great balance between low weight, speed, and acceleration.
Undercover RAW 110 mm 85A UHR wheels - proven solution for urban skating, but thanks to their high-rebound urethane, they also perform great on tracks, allowing for really fast skating. Additionally, they wear down slowly. The whole is complemented by ABEC9 bearings from Wicked, providing smooth rolling.
Powerslide Swell 110 Eco – worth knowing!
The set includes the HABS Brake
- Size 38-41 – HABS Brake size S/M
- Size 42-47 - HABS Sync brake
If you are looking for top-class fitness skates that also perform well in urban conditions and want to care for the environment, Powerslide Swell 110 Eco is a great choice.
About manufacturer
Powerslide is one of industry’s leaders even though it is relatively young company – it has been founded in year 1994. The Germany based brand has entered the market at height of inline skating’s popularity, at the time when market was flooded with low quality skates which could be described as toys rather than sport equipment. From the very beginning, Powerslide had one goal: to break the perception of inline skating being a leisure activity for kids and to promote it as a sport for everyone. That’s not a surprise considering that company’s owner, Matthias Knoll, is a skater himself. As speedskating contender, he breathes this sport and his love for it has been fuelling Powerslide for over 25 years.
If we were to describe Powerslide in three words, these would be: quality, variety and innovation. From the very beginning of company’s existence, Germans have challenged industry’s giants and competed with them in field of quality. Nowadays they are in lead of the pack when it comes to technology: heatmoldable liners and boots, compressed carbon shells, revolutionary Trinity mounting – these things are relatively fresh and competition is yet to respond. Looking back, Powerslide was the first company to introduce carbon freestyle skate with integrated padding. They were the first company to introduce carbon based aggressive skate. 125mm wheels were introduced to speedskating thanks to them. The introduction of Kizer Advance frame and then Level 2 made a big impact and lead to rapid evolution of aggressive flat frames. Germans were the first company to make triskates a significant part of their offering, starting a new trend. Nowadays, Powerslide are the only company that makes real off-road skates (not to be confused with off-road rollerskis).
This pursuit of change and improvement is unique – no other company in this industry is having a boss willing to take even the craziest of ideas and concepts to production stage. Powerslide also have, without a shadow of doubt, the richest catalogue of products among all skating companies; covering even the most niche equipment made for freestyle slalom, downhill and inline alpine. They have full range of accessories and parts: helmets, protection pads, wheels, bearings, frames and so on. The company is also making rollerskates, providing recreational, roller derby and skatepark models and equipment. It can be safely said that if Powerslide is not making something skating related, chances of other companies having it in their offer are slim to none.
Powerslide have an impressive brand portfolio: MyFit liners, Wicked bearings, Reign hockey skates, USD aggressive skates, Kizer frames, Undercover wheels, Matter wheels, Gawds boots, wheels and softgoods, Prime wheels, Juice rollerskates wheels, Chaya rollerskates, Ennui protection and many others.
What makes Powerslide special are company’s people and supporters who create a community around it. Germans support and cooperate with skaters all around the globe. International Powerslide Team is composed of names every inline skating fan should be familiar with and believe us - there are far too many to list them here.
