Powerslide Zoom 80 Baby Blue inline skates
The Zoom skate family consists of basic models dedicated to urban skating, designed for both beginners and intermediate users. The Powerslide Zoom Baby Blue 80 model is characterized by speed, style, and is equipped with all the necessary features that allow you to push your own boundaries. The Powerslide Zoom Baby Blue 80 is equipped with a lightweight yet durable aluminum frame, on which grippy wheels measuring 4x80 mm / 85A of the Hurricane type and Wicked ABEC 7 bearings are mounted, ensuring smooth and stable riding.
The Powerslide Zoom 80 Baby Blue skates are created for those who appreciate the style of the early 90s and vivid colors, as well as looking for reliable skates that can be trusted. Thanks to the construction based on a rigid shell, the skates will allow you to do much more than just recreational skating.
Features of Powerslide Zoom 80 baby Blue inline skates?
- Strong hardboot shell – skates with plastic shells are considered the most universal of them all. They not only secure your feet from injury, but also provide better responsiveness and energy transfer than softboot counterparts. A pair of solid hardboot skates will last you many years, even if you won’t go easy on them!
- Perfect amount of ankle support – cuff is made out of the same rigid material as lower part of the shell, doing superb job at stabilizing your ankle during skating. Because cuff is attached via two rivets acting as a pivot point, front to back ankle movement isn’t hampered, making skating much easier.
- Reliable closure – classic lacing found in Zoom 80 Baby Blue is modeled after hockey boots and works very well in securing your foot properly, without a need for additional lower buckle or Velcro strap. This also gives skate a clean look and adds to that retro vibe. Top plastic buckle allows to secure the cuff area. Overall, these two elements work together perfectly, erasing risk of abrasions and making skates easier to control.
- Excellent comfort – Zoom 80 Baby Blue have shell with generous width, meaning that majority of users will be able to skate without any unwanted pressure points. Powerslide equipped skates with comfortable, thick liner made of high quality foams. As a whole, skates are well fitting and comfortable right out of the box, with little to none break-in period.
- Aluminium frame with 80 mm wheels – Four times 80 mm diameter wheels is objectively the reference point for all fitness and freeskating setups! You cannot go wrong with it – cruise, commute, jump, slide, try freestyle slalom, play street hockey – it can do it all.
- Safe beginnings - stock wheels are on softer side to increase rolling comfort and make it easier to learn skating for beginners. You can start learning how to skate right form square zero, without worrying about grip and control.
- Enhanced plastic compound – Powerslide used GFRP – glass fiber reinforced plastic – to create Zoom’s shell. Durability is excellent with added benefits in terms of responsiveness and energy transfer.
- Riveted frame – just like in old-school blades and modern hockey boots, frame is riveted to boot. It allows for a perfect balance between cost vs reliability. Connection is super solid!
Zoom 80 Baby Blue skates - worth knowing!
Dual sizing liner – all hardboot skates use one shell size per two liner sizes. Ideally, you want your skates to have as little bulk as possible. However, with traditional sizing it can be a headache to find information if given boot size uses smaller or larger shell. Powerslide decided that this doesn’t make sense and offer dual-sizing liners, which come with neoprene, stretchy toe. It adjusts to length of your foot. Furthermore, you can check a mondo point table and see if it makes sense to go one size of the shell down or up.
Skates come without a brake – it is possible to attach aftermarket ones, though. Powerslide Urban brake in size S is compatible, however it requires 6 mm axles and dedicated spacers for assembly.
You cannot go wrong with Powerslide Zoom 80 Baby Blue. This classic style skate delivers if you are looking after something for leisure cruising, but can punch above it’s weight an serve as urban skating model, too! Simple and robust skates with some modern day upgrades and vibrant colourway. Thanks to their hardboot design, they are capable of far more than just simple cruising.
About manufacturer
Powerslide is one of industry’s leaders even though it is relatively young company – it has been founded in year 1994. The Germany based brand has entered the market at height of inline skating’s popularity, at the time when market was flooded with low quality skates which could be described as toys rather than sport equipment. From the very beginning, Powerslide had one goal: to break the perception of inline skating being a leisure activity for kids and to promote it as a sport for everyone. That’s not a surprise considering that company’s owner, Matthias Knoll, is a skater himself. As speedskating contender, he breathes this sport and his love for it has been fuelling Powerslide for over 25 years.
If we were to describe Powerslide in three words, these would be: quality, variety and innovation. From the very beginning of company’s existence, Germans have challenged industry’s giants and competed with them in field of quality. Nowadays they are in lead of the pack when it comes to technology: heatmoldable liners and boots, compressed carbon shells, revolutionary Trinity mounting – these things are relatively fresh and competition is yet to respond. Looking back, Powerslide was the first company to introduce carbon freestyle skate with integrated padding. They were the first company to introduce carbon based aggressive skate. 125mm wheels were introduced to speedskating thanks to them. The introduction of Kizer Advance frame and then Level 2 made a big impact and lead to rapid evolution of aggressive flat frames. Germans were the first company to make triskates a significant part of their offering, starting a new trend. Nowadays, Powerslide are the only company that makes real off-road skates (not to be confused with off-road rollerskis).
This pursuit of change and improvement is unique – no other company in this industry is having a boss willing to take even the craziest of ideas and concepts to production stage. Powerslide also have, without a shadow of doubt, the richest catalogue of products among all skating companies; covering even the most niche equipment made for freestyle slalom, downhill and inline alpine. They have full range of accessories and parts: helmets, protection pads, wheels, bearings, frames and so on. The company is also making rollerskates, providing recreational, roller derby and skatepark models and equipment. It can be safely said that if Powerslide is not making something skating related, chances of other companies having it in their offer are slim to none.
Powerslide have an impressive brand portfolio: MyFit liners, Wicked bearings, Reign hockey skates, USD aggressive skates, Kizer frames, Undercover wheels, Matter wheels, Gawds boots, wheels and softgoods, Prime wheels, Juice rollerskates wheels, Chaya rollerskates, Ennui protection and many others.
What makes Powerslide special are company’s people and supporters who create a community around it. Germans support and cooperate with skaters all around the globe. International Powerslide Team is composed of names every inline skating fan should be familiar with and believe us - there are far too many to list them here.
