Blank was created as a division of Rollerblade so that Tom Hyser could have specific control and creative outlet over the product design and marketing of the products. Rollerblade Blank — versatile frames aggressive inline skating
The Rollerblade Blank are the basic model of the brand's aggressive inline skating frames, which we can find included with every model of Rollerblade Blank skates. However, its compatibility with the UFS frame mounting standard allows it to be used in any other compatible aggressive skate.
Are the Rollerblade Blank frames suitable for a flat setup?
The heavily accentuated, very wide but shallow groove, i.e. the space between the 2nd and 3rd inner wheel, has been designed to allow for both an anti rocker setup (2 larger outer wheels and hard grind wheels in the middle) and a flat setting (4 wheels of the same size in the frame).
The maximum wheel size in the flat setting is 60mm, but for beginners we recommend no more than 58mm to eliminate jamming problems when grinding.
The unique shape of the Rollerblade Blank frames
Thanks to the larger indentation in the front and rear of the frame base, you get extra space that will allow you to use larger diameter of outside wheels (up to 64 mm).
The bottom part of the frame has a standard width, but becomes thinner towards the top. It was designed this way to allow the frame to glide over bumps on ledges/coping etc.
Rollerblade Blank frames — worth knowing!
The frame is offered in three lengths, where the 290 mm version deserves special attention. A rare length in frames for aggressive skating will be an excellent fit for very large sized boots, where shorter frames do not always coincide correctly with the backslide plate.
