Product Description

The Macroblade inline skates are the main line of models for fitness skating from Rollerblade. This well-known and respected manufacturer has focused on comfort, simplicity, proven solutions, attractive looks, and high-quality materials. As a result, we get skates that offer a lot of fun and “just work”.

Macroblade 90 Boa is the quintessential model for someone looking to upgrade up from their older skates and wants to skate a little faster. 90 mm is a great "go to" size for wheels while the fit and support of the Macroblade 90 is exceptional.

The Macroblade 90 BOA inline skates are great for fitness!

  • The soft boot concept — a soft, light, and “breathable” boot set in a composite skeleton, which forms the base for the skate and provides ankle support.
  • A rigid and high cuff — minimalist, but prevents pronation and supination. It is fastened with a plastic buckle with a durable strap and has an open-front design. This provides excellent lateral support without overly restricting front-back ankle movements.
  • Functionality and appearance — It's impossible not to notice how strikingly similar the Macroblade skates are to high-class sports footwear. The outer material is a finely woven fabric that excellently allows air and moisture to pass through. Beneath it are anatomically shaped Performance foams that fit perfectly to the foot, ensuring a high level of comfort. The lining inside the boot is made of abrasion-resistant material.
  • BOA lacing — a regulation mechanism with metal links, which also act as a 45-degree strap, pressing down on the heel and performing better in this role than Velcro.
  • Reinforced tongue — Many BOA lacing skates retain the unchanged design of their counterparts with standard lacing. Rollerblade approached this issue more comprehensively – the new, multi-layer tongue has an external plastic cover. It gives the skates a fresh look but also plays an important role – it evenly distributes the pressure of the BOA lace, thus the foot retention in the skate is much better than in classic soft boots.
  • Twinblade aluminium frame — It is made of thick aluminum sheet, appropriately shaped to give it greater rigidity. Although it uses two-part axes, they are so cleverly designed that only one Allen key is needed for tightening, which significantly facilitates wheel replacement.
  • Wheels and bearings — the wheels have a diameter of 90 mm and a hardness of 85A. SG9 bearings are a very good choice for recreational and fitness skating.

Macroblade 90 BOA skates — worth knowing!

  • Double size range — The set includes a “Footboard sizer” — a rigid, contoured pad under the actual insole in the skate. You can skate without it, getting more space inside, or with it for a tighter fit and smaller size. It's a very simple idea, but it works much better than it might seem.
  • Frame length depending on size265 mm for sizes up to EU 44, and 280 mm for larger sizes. This also gives users with larger feet stable skates, without the “rocking” effect. A good base for pushing off.
  • Removable brake — the set includes a shorter axle and an Allen key. If necessary, the brake can be transferred to the left skate.
  • Twinblade aluminium frame  — has five axle holes so you have the option to skate the stock 4x90mm set up or change to 3x100mm.

The Macroblade 90 BOA is recommended mainly for people looking for comfortable, well-made skates for fitness skating and taking their first steps in the sport. They are really great skates that provide an excellent fit for the foot.

About manufacturer

Other products of this producer Rollerblade

Rollerblade are industry’s veterans and one of the most important brands in inline skating history. The company was founded in year 1982 by Brennan Olson and Scott Olson, in Minnesota. Since then, Rollerblade underwent several acquisitions and finally became a part of Tecnica Group, a corporation which gathers several well-known and highly valued sport brands under its umbrella.

Contrary to popular belief, Rollerblade was not the first company to mass-manufacture inline skates. However, they were the first company to sell them worldwide and invest heavily in promotion of the rising sport. A testament of their success is the fact that we now use “rollerblading”, a word derived from company’s name, as a synonym to inline skating. Inline skates themselves are often called “rollerblades” or in shortened form, “blades”.

In this day and age, Rollerblade stands for quality. They are not the most innovative of the brands, their catalogue is not as expansive as some others, but without a shadow of doubt – a product with Rollerblade logo on it, is a quality one - from the simplest recreational skates to high end speedskating boots. Company’s approach can be described as steady evolution rather than revolution – this may not appeal to some customers, but guarantees that RB’s skates are always a safe bet. It’s worth remembering that Rollerblade do have resources to give us a surprise from time to time – being in one family with winter sports giants like Nordica, Tecnica and Blizzard Sports gives them an opportunity for technology transfer.

Even though Rollerblade prefers quality over quantity, they offer skates for almost every style: from kid’s skates, through recreational, fitness, speed and aggressive to urban skates. The only area where their catalogue is lacking is freestyle slalom; Rollerblade, to this day, has not created a model dedicated for this type of activity, even though their older urban skate, Twister, was a very popular choice among beginners and intermediate slalom enthusiasts at the beginning of the century.

Rollerblade have always worked with skaters and attracted best of them. There was a time when their aggressive inline skating team was unmatched – the very first pro skate of one of most talented and highest regarded skaters in history, Alexander Broskow, was made by Rollerblade. They were the first company to release a pro-model of an urban skate with Fusion 84 Greg Mirzoyan. It’s worth mentioning names like Ben Brillante, Sven Boekhorst, Robert Guerrero, Vincent Vuvankha and Danny Alridge – all skate or skated for Rollerblade. Moreover, the company is trying to make ambassadors of skating out of people who practice other sports – we can mention a loose cooperation with skiing superstar, Sierra Quitiquit. The company also tries to appeal to skiing audience in particular by their campaign and training program called “Skate to ski”.
