Product details
Kyle Sola has quickly gained a reputation of being one of the most talented, if not THE most talented industrial designers working in aggressive inline skating industry. The boot and frames of Them 909 skate are his works. He also has been involved in modernisation of Rollerblade Solo skate, streamlining it into current Rollerblade Blank model. In addition to participating in projects of other companies, Kyle also runs his own, called Sola Equipment. Thus far, it is focused on delivering some of the highest end frames on the market.
All Sola Equipment frames are made from a CNC-milled 6061-T6 aluminium extrusion profile, which is finally treated with a surface-hardening anodized finish. It is worth to note that Sola Equipment was the first brand to popularize skating a “raw” aluminium frame with replaceable H-block. This concept was later picked up by brands such as Ground Control, Kizer and IQON.
Sola UFS Street Frames are what made the brand famous worldwide. They are made in two lengths: 250 mm (for boot sizes EU 38-42) and 270 mm (for boot sizes EU42-46). These are low profile frames made for riding flat wheel setup and the maximum wheel size they accept is 60 mm. Thanks to the fact that they are made out of aluminium and use one piece axles, their weight is really low and on top of that, their rigidity is excellent. It is really easy to skate really fast on them, as the energy transfer on push is superb. If plastic composite frames are what you’ve been riding your whole life, you’ll be in shock how much snappier and responsive Sola UFS Street feel.
Frame comes with replaceable H-block made out of high quality polymer. It gives an excellent balance between speed and control on grinds. This H-block is suitable for both street and park skating and offers a moderate wheelbite protection.
An aluminium version of H-block is available to purchase separately. It is made out of the exact same material as frame itself and intended for park and bowl skating. The metal-on-metal feel when grinding copings is amazing (you can even get away without using wax) and the shape of this H-block makes locking onto tricks easier. There is also an option for those who would like to make these frames better performing on rough ledges found on street spots – the slider kit. These frame covers are made out of glass fibre reinforced nylon material, do a great job of protecting the frame from damage and slide very well on those not so smooth ledges.
There’s no doubt that Sola Equipment frames are one of the hottest skate parts on the market right now. These are truly a premium product, designed to meet demanding style of the very best skaters out there.

Even though others copied Kyles ideas, they have not copied one outstanding thing about his designs - style. Kyle uses almost brutalism-like shapes and lines. They are symmetrical, often angular and have premium feel to them, while simultaneously looking "raw". This outstanding design is what makes Sola products so different from every other brand out there.
