FR EZX - Pink Inline Skates

FR brand enters the market of skates for children in style – the EZX are one of the most advanced and best looking models targeted at youngest users.

EZX is a really solid and supportive hardboot that share more with proper freeskating models than softboot fitness skates. It is closed by two buckles and velcro strap which makes tightening the skate easy, but still secures the foot firmly in place. The boot is adjustable and each shell size covers four boot sizes: EU29-32, EU33-36, EU37-40. Thanks to it, there’s no need to replace the skates each year — they can grow with your kid’s feet. Inside the boot resides a comfortable liner with thick padding, adjusting to user’s foot thanks to stretchable toe area. Underneath the liner resides shock absorber and side of the boot is protected by replaceable slider.

EZX come with aluminium frames, made with the same technologies and material as those in “grown up” skates. The axles are single piece and frame is threaded, meaning that only one Allen key is needed to swap wheels. Stiff aluminium frame provides smooth rolling and superb energy transfer — it is also more resistant than plastic composite ones. Furthermore, it does have a built-in rockering. If we use four wheels of the same size in the frame, the result is “banana” rocker, which makes the skates way more agile and allows for taking first steps in freestyle slalom. Manufacturer realizes that rockered setup may be a bit too challenging to handle for beginners and so, the skates come with bigger outer wheels, resulting in flat, more stable setup.

Each shell size comes with different frame length, meaning that it always corresponds to user’s foot length in the best way possible — the children won’t struggle with frames being too long, impairing manoeuvrability or too short ones, impacting stability in negative way. Frame sizes are as follows:

Boot size EU29-32 – 192 mm frame – 64-62-62-64 mm stock setup, 4x62 mm for rockering
Boot size EU33-36 – 210 mm frame – 70-68-68-70 mm stock setup, 4x68 mm for rockering
Boot size EU37-40 – 216 mm frame – 72-70-70-72 mm stock setup, 4x70 mm for rockering

The surprises do not end here, though. FR Skates have included a new “wheel fixing system” which allows you to lock two rear wheels, so they roll with much more resistance. This helps the very youngest children in taking their first steps on skates.

Skates come with 85A hardness stock wheels, giving a fast and smooth roll. The ABEC7 bearings are pretty much a standard equipment when it comes for skates aimed at children, but you do not really need anything fancy for users with relatively low weight. FR have equipped the skates with a brake, which can be easily detached.

FR Skates EZX are great choice no matter if you are looking for a pair of solid skates to get your kid rolling, or an entry level freestyle slalom and freeskating equipment for the youngest. They are up to the task of frequent, demanding skating. Last but not least, the manufacturer have ensured that replacement parts: buckles, insoles, liners, sliders, brakes, frames and smaller nuts and bolts are available at skateshops. Thanks to that, it is easy to keep the skates in good condition and you can even “refresh” them to pass from one kid to another, when they finally become too small!
