Product details

Product Description

Roces RL2 is the updated edition of the high-end skate liner of Italian manufacturer, dedicated mostly for aggressive skate models of the brand. Slightly stiffer liner, assuring the unmatched ankle support. Without a doubt it is inspired by highly popular Intuition products.

The interior lining is made of foam combination of different densities, while the outer layer is a mix of slim Lycra and slick neoprene. The use of different materials inside the liner has its practical justification. While the heel area is made of a rougher material for optimal immobilization, the rest of the interior lining surface is made out of soft Lycra for easy put on and quick take off.

The rather compact design of Roces  RL2 liners make them the perfect choice for downsizing which means the possibility of fitting into a smaller skate shell then we usually use. A particularly useful treatment with the massive shells of Roces 5th Element skates, where one can still struggle with the problem of oversized lengths. Moreover, thanks to heat mould option we can get rid of any pressure points and adapt the shape of the liner to the unique shape of our foot.

The idea of Roces  RL2 lacing system called Tri-Hold, was taken from trekking shoes. The system involves lower, hidden laces, integrated with the ankle area in order to fully immobilize it, thus replacing the common 45 degrees Velcro solution. On the other hand the upper part of the liner can then be tightened independently, facilitating direct integration with the shell laces. The Tri-Hold system therefore gives the user a lot of freedom in flex control — while the heel will be firmly embedded in the base of the shell, the forward flex range can still be quite high.

External silicone applications will prevent the liner from moving inside a skate shell, while numerous ventilation holes in both the sole and sides of the liner will effectively keep our feet fresh.

In order to fix the problems regarding the first edition of the Roces RL liner, its second version introduces expected tongue reinforcement and, above all, a durable and comfortable carrying handle. In addition, all internal seams in the ankle area have been removed, eliminating any possible discomfort.

Roces RL2 liner is definitely a product for skaters who know their exact needs. Offering a number of improvements and unique solutions, it is undeniably a premium product and a significant step forward compared to standard liners offered by the Roces  brand.

About manufacturer

Other products of this producer Roces

Roces company was founded in year 1952 in small Italian city Montebellunar, 50 km from Venice. The brand initially made leather trekking and skiing boots, in time adopting new technologies and possibilities brought by plastic revolution. In year 1978, Roces has made world’s first ice skates with plastic moulded boot. Several years later, Vasco Casavin, already a second generation of company’s owners, meet Scott Olson, a founder of Rollerblade at Los Angeles trade shows. They’ve struck a deal and so begins Roces journey with inline skating – initially limited to making skates for Rollerblade.

The first Roces boot mold is named PRO – the very same shell as the now legendary M12 boot, which is still made today. After a decade of cooperation, two brands split ways and Roces releases their very own skates range in 1994 – showcasing them to general public on trade shows in LA, once again. This was a major surprise for the industry – Rollerblade was already a very strong and well known brand, but few were aware that Roces were behind making their skates.

Roces had perfect timing with the reveal, seeing that inline skating popularity has exploded in mid 90’s. In year 1996, Roces has released the very first „true” aggressive skates, built from the ground up for this demanding style, with low and reinforced frame  – namely, the Majestic 12. The brand’s history is closely tied with aggressive skating from that point. It is worth to note that even when Roces had joined forces with the inline skating legend, Jon Julio, to create Valo brand, which lasted for about a decade, the M12 skate never went out of production.

Other styles were as much influenced by Roces as aggressive. They were the first brand to offer a wide range of inline hockey skates and in year 1995 they have released what now can be called an ancestor of freeskates – Roces Sydney, coming with supportive hardboot, strong aluminium frame, rockering option and 76mm wheels. Back then, Roces already had carbon speedskating boots in their catalogue. In year 1997, Big Cat hit the market – one of the first off-road skates and precursor of modern roller skis. In the same year, Mexico City 5 was released for downhill enthusiasts – the very first harboot skate to come with 5 wheeled frame, stock.

During 60 years of their history, Roces has been setting the trends and actively supported skating scene. They are one of foundations of our favourite sport and their influence cannot be overestimated. Roces skates are result of years worth of development, knowledge and experience.
