Product Description

The Rollerblade Maxxum XT skates are designed for those seeking high-quality fitness skates, but not the regular kind. They are intended for those who want to challenge both themselves and the skates, skating in demanding conditions, including urban environment. The Maxxum XT leans more towards freeskate rather than fitness skating, in terms of durability, fit, support, and ankle stabilization.

Rollerblade Maxxum XT — Skates for demanding users

The Maxxum XT shares its shell with one of the best urban skating models on the market, the Twister Edge. However, the similarities end there, as it features a better anatomically shaped cuff, a new inner boot, buckles, and a frame.

  • Stiffness — The mentioned shell is much stiffer, offering better support. Metal plates embedded in the frame mounting areas strengthen the connection between the frame and the boot, significantly improving energy transfer to the wheels.
  • Anti Torsion Box — A hole under the central part of the foot, framed with 3D structure, further stiffens the boot structure. The Maxxum Edge also has a shock-absorber under the heel, reducing vibration transfer to the joints.

Rollerblade Maxxum XT — Comfort and Safety

  • Premium Skate Liner Plus — Shaped to not only provide comfort during skating but also to lock the heel in place. The new edition inner boot has improved foam shaping for a better fit right out of the box. Inside the inner boot is a comfortable insole providing arch support.
  • Comfort Flex tongue — The sides of the tongue are filled with soft foam to snugly wrap around the shin, while the middle part is reinforced for excellent support. This enhances control over the skates.
  • V-cut — A cutout allowing greater range of motion at the ankle. The cuff, more minimalist than the Twister Edge's, still provides excellent ankle support.
  • 45-Degree Buckle — Specially designed for the Maxxum series, allowing a tight fit of the shell to immobilize the heel. The upper buckle on the cuff also ensures excellent closure.

Frames and Wheels

  • 280 mm Frame — Extruded from aluminium. Its stiffness and length, combined with a solid connection to the boot, provide a great base for push, which, coupled with 4x90 mm wheels, allows for really fast skating. The skates are still agile enough for urban skating.
  • Hydrogen SE 90 mm/85A wheels — The urethane mix used in them is durable and grippy, ensuring longevity. They spin on high-quality ILQ-7 Plus bearings from the renowned Twincam company.

Rollerblade Maxxum XT — worth knowing!

These skates are recommended not just for hardcore fitness enthusiasts, but also for those who desire a faster yet still low-profile version of the Twister Edge (the 3x110 frames in the Twister Edge 125 are much higher). They perform equally well on trails and in the city.

Maxxum XT 90 mm skates are hugely popular among skiers. They are promoted as part of the “Skate to Ski” program, designed to show the benefits skaters can bring to skiers during the off-season. The Rollerblade Maxxum XT has won the hearts of snow sports professionals due to its excellent foot grip, ankle support, and a perfect balance between agility, speed, and stability.

About manufacturer

Other products of this producer Rollerblade

Rollerblade are industry’s veterans and one of the most important brands in inline skating history. The company was founded in year 1982 by Brennan Olson and Scott Olson, in Minnesota. Since then, Rollerblade underwent several acquisitions and finally became a part of Tecnica Group, a corporation which gathers several well-known and highly valued sport brands under its umbrella.

Contrary to popular belief, Rollerblade was not the first company to mass-manufacture inline skates. However, they were the first company to sell them worldwide and invest heavily in promotion of the rising sport. A testament of their success is the fact that we now use “rollerblading”, a word derived from company’s name, as a synonym to inline skating. Inline skates themselves are often called “rollerblades” or in shortened form, “blades”.

In this day and age, Rollerblade stands for quality. They are not the most innovative of the brands, their catalogue is not as expansive as some others, but without a shadow of doubt – a product with Rollerblade logo on it, is a quality one - from the simplest recreational skates to high end speedskating boots. Company’s approach can be described as steady evolution rather than revolution – this may not appeal to some customers, but guarantees that RB’s skates are always a safe bet. It’s worth remembering that Rollerblade do have resources to give us a surprise from time to time – being in one family with winter sports giants like Nordica, Tecnica and Blizzard Sports gives them an opportunity for technology transfer.

Even though Rollerblade prefers quality over quantity, they offer skates for almost every style: from kid’s skates, through recreational, fitness, speed and aggressive to urban skates. The only area where their catalogue is lacking is freestyle slalom; Rollerblade, to this day, has not created a model dedicated for this type of activity, even though their older urban skate, Twister, was a very popular choice among beginners and intermediate slalom enthusiasts at the beginning of the century.

Rollerblade have always worked with skaters and attracted best of them. There was a time when their aggressive inline skating team was unmatched – the very first pro skate of one of most talented and highest regarded skaters in history, Alexander Broskow, was made by Rollerblade. They were the first company to release a pro-model of an urban skate with Fusion 84 Greg Mirzoyan. It’s worth mentioning names like Ben Brillante, Sven Boekhorst, Robert Guerrero, Vincent Vuvankha and Danny Alridge – all skate or skated for Rollerblade. Moreover, the company is trying to make ambassadors of skating out of people who practice other sports – we can mention a loose cooperation with skiing superstar, Sierra Quitiquit. The company also tries to appeal to skiing audience in particular by their campaign and training program called “Skate to ski”.
